Typography in the 20th Century

A first year 2D class project, so it's about 2 and a half years old now. We were to make posters using only a certain font. We were given 3 fonts; Gill, Bodoni and Garamond, and had to create 3 posters, each to a different set format. We were also given a list of typography quotes, and had to choose one for each poster.

This was Bodoni.

The text reads:
"Typography is a means to an end, and not an end in itself, and it is subject to certain restraints"

Oh lovely bodoni. A hotel I went to used it as a default font. It was the most pleasant typographic experience ever.

I like how the rounded bits of type give the impression of bubbles rising upward. Very nicely done.

This is so beautiful. The edge between the purple and yellow is so striking.

Very nice and well-balanced :) It really does look like the cover of a textbook.
