Typography in the 20th Century

A first year 2D class project, so it's about 2 and a half years old now. We were to make posters using only a certain font. We were given 3 fonts; Gill, Bodoni and Garamond, and had to create 3 posters, each to a different set format. We were also given a list of typography quotes, and had to choose one for each poster.

This was Garamond.

The text reads:
"Effective design has become a synthesis of logic, artistry and commercial necessity"

simply gorgeous.
sounds like the sort of assignments we do a lot of in my apgr courses.
I really looked at Garamond for the first time with the CD promo project I just finished where I used it for most of the pages.

Coo I like the quote you used for it. Also it seems like a interesting project for the poster.

i love garamond.

garamond is the perfect font.
it will never go out of style.

i don't understand why comic sans ms hasn't become illegal to use yet, i see this font everywhere assraping all kinds of otherwise fine designs and logos and whatnots. =/

but yes, garamond-

Oh dear... The word typography strikes terror into my heart... I hate Quark Express...But I love seeing such a range of beautiful artwork and your guts to show everything you do and not be boxed into a single style!
