Draft ideas for a fictional high-end night club flyer. Copasetik.

First time in Illustrator. I'm not looking for critique on the execution of the artwork itself, but on the concept for the logo and branding of the image at the bottom.

I'm having issues trying to think of a cool logo, or more preferably, a way to make the name into the logo. Right now I just have the word 'copacetik' at the bottom with the butterfly next to it. I used the font Danube because the 'a' could be made into a pattern for the background, and I wanted to make a sort of 70s geometrical pattern.

The butterfly logo is just too complex and multicoloured. I used it because the butterfly was one of the iconic motifs used in the 60s and 70s, but also because I liked the idea of beautiful creatures (frequenting high end night clubs) and also the more cynical aspect of their fleeting beauty. But I think I need to change it. I am thinking of having that pattern in the bg, made up of the four 'a's as a logo, but then I'd need a reason for it. And I can't think of one. Unless I made a pattern up out of c's for copacetik, maybe. Input please!

I used browns, oranges and yellows because they are typical 70s colours. I am thinking of changing the colour scheme and use using brown with either orange, turquoise or avacago green (other typical 60s 70s colours). Input please~

Btw, the word 'copasetic' was used in the 60s and 70s like 'cool' was. It also means everything is good, ok, etc.
Also it can mean a passion for life or love. Or 'Delicious'. Yes, random. I know. I changed the last c to a k coz I'm hip like that. Any different name suggestions are welcome.

If you have any suggestions for a 60s/70s inspired ('inspired', not 'themed'. I like the furniture, and the idea of modern things soon becoming 'uncool', then coming back 'in' again) nightclub/cafe please hit me up. I don't want it to be obviously retro, if you get what I mean. You know - with afros and stuff, haha.

This looks really nice. Has a nice feel to it. :)
very great job :3 looks awsome
I love the colors and I also love how you did her skin, very cute. Since it's a flyer for a club, it might be nice to put like a mock address or something on it, but whatever, I don't know what the assignment is :3
that is slick and lovely. not to mention bright. ;) it has such a sophisticated happy feel to it somehow .. love the butterflies and the tone.

I watch a lot of TV. I drink a lot of coffee, too. But you know what's really addictive? Heroin.
ooh that would be great as a flier- very cool and very trendy!!!!

Robin: "If we close our eyes, we can't see anything."
Batman: "A sound observation, Robin."
I like it :3 Of course its all supersexy and superstylish. I'm so glad you kept it to a monotone because otherwise it might have been overwhelming to have a lot of colour and stuff. I really like, of course, how her body fades into the background. I think it looks really superawesome. I love the style of the butterflies. The design of them was integrated well, they also form an interesting pattern and I like their vertical orientation because it mimics her pose, which is also quite vertical.

Aside from the fact that I think its a really strong piece, I really don't like how the background texture terminates. I think its actually kinda lame to just "stop" it at the butterflies. Because... then there is this random whitespace. Which, don't get me wrong, it cool for ballance and keeps the picture from being too busy, but also competes with the form of the girl. I like the font, too, but I don't like how the leg disappears for it, and once again, how the background pattern dissapears for it. There are also a few anatomical things that kinda bug me, like her right hand (I suppose it was like that in the photo, too, but I can't help but think that it looks weird to not have more of her hand coming through....)

Overall nice pic and I  yellow!
Snazzy! :)

"Warriors of fate, you shall dance bravely,
Use your golden wings, and fly to the skies!
Heroes of steel, they do not have the word "retreat" in their minds.
Continue to command with your raging, burning souls!
To eternity! To eternity!"
love the whole design :D and the model is so hot!
hey, lets go to the club together
