E D I T : thank you to everyone who has sent in their entries since i last updated my journal. due to a personal crisis (actually, 4 crisis's) i won't be able to update my journal til a little later tonight or tomorrow... please know that i have recieved your entries, though.

also, if you still want to enter you can, but since i won't be able to allocate a name, please feel free to just run with any of the available names...

how does it work!?

step one: you pick a character of mine to draw (either Aya, Bijou, Guava or Van) click the thumbnail below for more info


step two: you pick a name from the list of Magical Girl alter ego's below. it has to be a name from the list, sorry! they're all a little bit weeeird :>

step three: you draw my character as their Magical Girl alter ego... for example... if you decide to draw my character 'Van' and chose the Magical Girl alter ego ' Perky Lemon Fairy' from the list below, you'd design the costume/props/etc of how Van would look if she transformed into the Magical Girl PERKY LEMON FAIRY!

you can draw them fighting an enemy or posing for a Manga cover - it's totally up to you!

it's all a bit silly, and just for a bit of fun...

step four: leave me a comment in THIS journal telling me which 'Magical Girl alter ego' name you want and I'll put your name after it (sorry, one name per person! first in first served! you better put a 1st and 2nd choice down) make sure you scroll down the list of journal comments to make sure someone else hasn't asked for your preferred name.

step five: upload your image, send me a note with a link to it, and i'll add it to my journal until it's time to be judged (even if you don't win a prize, you'll still get your art featured for ages!)


judging and prizes

judging: don't worry if you feel you aren't the strongest illustrator out there! i'll also be judging based on how creative your costume concept is, as well as how closely the Magical Girl matches my characters profiles... and there'll be public voting as well!

prizes: there will be two main prizes... one for ' Peoples Choice' and one for my own personal fav :> one will win a Year Sub and the other will win a 3 Month sub, and i will draw both winners a character of their choice.

HOWEVER... i REALLY wanted to make both prizes 1 Year subs but i am just a few deviantDOLLARS short! so, if someone buys one of my prints before the contest closes i will be able to make the prizes both 1 Year subs

... there will also be a sprinkling of spot prize sketches/chibi's, and if i have any more deviantDOLLARS by then maybe even some more subs :>

closing date: all art must be in by April 10 2008... i'll then open them up to public voting. subscription prizes will be given out straight away, however i may be moving in a few months time (i'm not sure when) so the art prizes may be a little later after that

(even if someone else is drawing it, it doesnt matter, as long as it's your 2nd entry)... and you don't have to tell me who you're picking. as long as your first entry was your original one.
