A HUGE thank you to everyone who has participated in the Aminal Angel Project so far!!

I've had a WAY bigger response than I thought I would, with 16 people so far taking part, many of whom have offered more than the US$6.50 I was asking! I've got enough commissions to last me the next week at least so I'm afraid I won't be able to take any more US$6.50 commissions for now.

I will, however, still take a commission if the donation is over $20 Australian / $13 American.

These pictures are actually taking me a bit longer to do than I thought they would (I'm too much of a perfectionist for this job!!!) and I think that US$6.50 is pretty cheap... it breaks down to about $3 an hour!!!!!

For those that have already noted me or paid, don't worry! I'm still drawing your picture for the original amount you donated. I just won't be able to take any more for US$6.50, sorry!

The AMINAL ANGEL Project

• What is it?

Cute animal commissions drawn by me to raise money for wildlife and pets suffering from Victoria's recent Bushfires. The final pictures will be stuck together and posted up as a 'Quilt' in my Gallery, with the icons of those who donated underneath.

• How much is a commissioned pic?

$20 Australian which is about $13 American.

Obviously you're welcome to donate more than US$13. This is a drawing to say 'thank you' for donating to the animals. To figure out what $20 Australian is in your currency check out [link]

• How much of the money will be donated to the animals?

Everything minus whatever fee Paypal will take from me. I won't be keeping any - it will all go to the animals.

• What shelter will receive the money?

RSPCA Victoria [link] . Depending on how successful the first quilt is I hope to do more Quilts to donate money to other wildlife charities operating in the bushfire affected areas.

• What will be drawn?

I will draw your pet if you supply me with a reference photo - or any animal, domestic or wild - the choice is yours! One animal per donation though, please. You will receive a 10x10 inch 150dpi file of your commissioned art, as well as recognition for donating to the Project by having your icon underneath the final Quilt when it's posted.

Here's an example of what a Quilt piece will look like:

• How many commission slots are open?

I don't want to refuse anyone who offers, but I will stop taking commissions if I find I have too many to draw in the space of the next 2 weeks. I already have 14 to do! So there won't be too many places left...

• How do I reserve a place on the "Quilt" and send my donation?

• Send me a note with the following information:

<sub>- A link to a picture or type of animal you'd like drawn (your pet, your anthro, your fav animal, a mythical animal even!). Include their name if it has one!

- Tell me the amount you're willing to donate (donations start at $20 Australian - which is only US$13! but you can donate more if you like!)

- Once I've read your note I'll reply and give you my PayPal details (That's my only method of payment, sorry!). Sorry if I'm slow to reply, I have to fit this project in around work!

- You then drop the money into my Paypal account - note me that you've done it (with your email so I can match you up in my records), and I'll start drawing!</sub>

PLEASE REMEMBER! These are cute quick drawings, a way of saying 'thank you' for donating. As you can see from the example they are 'chibi' style and not highly detailed. There won't be any WIPs or edits/alterations to the final image, sorry! I am hoping to do as many of these as possible!

Please DO NOT send me a note unless you are planning to participate! I will get confused if I get too many "I'd love to help but I have no money" notes. But thanks anyway

Photographs from the recent Victorian Bushfires:

WARNING The following photographs may be upsetting to some people.

As some of you may already know, Victoria (in Australia) suffered it's worst bushfire in the country's history a few weeks ago. Over 200 people were killed - entire families perished - when a firestorm of incomprehensible swiftness and ferocity bore down their country communities. Obviously people weren't the only ones to suffer, with uncountable numbers of animals killed and badly burned.

What made it so much more horrific is that many of the fires were started by arsonists.

I posted those photos because they've been on my mind ever since this tragedy happened. I want to help, and what vets, shelters and owners really need is money. Money to pay for treatment and shelter for all the injured and unclaimed animals, as well as wildlife.

I know in these economic times that it's hard to dig deep. It's hard to give money away to a faceless charity on the other side of the world. That's why I came up with the Aminal Angel Project.
